Hi there, I'm Ana.

These days I hold a global IFS practice remotely out of Portland, Maine. I blend my roles as an Advocate, Instructor, Journalist and level two-trained IFS Practitioner to empower clients to navigate their internal landscapes. I am committed to our individual and collective capacity for liberation, and am continually in awe of the transformative power of IFS.

My last name, Adlerstein, translates to “Eaglestone” in German. Growing up, my family told me our ancestors had worked as toll collectors in Bavaria, perched atop hills to gather stones from passers-by. During my level-one Internal Family Systems (IFS) training in Spain, I had the opportunity to travel to Germany, where three of my grandparents were exiled from during the Holocaust. I learned that an “Adlerstein” is a rattling stone found in eagles’ nests and was traditionally used as an amulet for protection during childbirth. I named my practice Eaglestone IFS in honor of the protectors - so often misunderstood - that keep us safe, and allow us to birth new ways of living.

From refugee camps in Greece, to the US/Mexico border, from civilian protection sites in South Sudan to the blueberry barrens of northern Maine, I have had the privilege of bearing witness and accompanying people—and their parts— in moments of crisis, change, and transformation.
